Hi!
Like many other women in the United States, I also have suffered with my weight, my relationship with food, my love/hate affair with exercise (mostly hate), and my ridiculously unhealthy self esteem issues.
But that’s all changing now.
I started this blog in March 2010 and realized that I wasn’t just a little overweight anymore. It wasn’t something I could ignore or avoid. In addition to being heavy, I was also experiencing some inconvenient truths - I was unhealthy, really though.
My periods were irregular, I was experiencing horrible mood swings, I had no energy, I felt like my heartbeat was irregular, my thyroid was diagnosed as being underactive and out of whack…and I knew I wasn’t functioning like a healthy human being. In addition to all that, I wasn’t happy. I didn’t even want to look in the mirror anymore, I didn’t want to go out with my friends or in public and I felt like I had nothing to wear. I felt like people around me could never get a chance to get to know the real me, or see me for me, when I was wearing this huge fatsuit everyday.
I was sad when winter was over because I couldn’t hide in my oversized coats anymore.
I started this tumblr on March 24, 2010 at 207lbs, check out the scale to see where I’m at now, you can check out my photos to see my progress.
I have established some legitimate routines, practices & ‘rules’ for myself, which have contributed to my success thus far. Also important - sticking to a diet of mainly plant based & live foods.

After graduating in December 2010 with a dual degree in PR and Advertising I job hunted for months while working at a sandwich shop and finally landed an amazing job in March 2011.
Fast-track-to-present. Now, I work for a truly amazing company with awesome coworkers and am utilizing my degrees in marketing and advertising. However, I struggle on a daily basis with balancing my job-life and my life-life.
I am constantly trying to find ways to juggle healthy & delicious live foods, plenty of sunshine and exercise, relaxation, playtime and all things domestic while advancing my career. It’s hard work.

I really love the outdoors - camping, fishing, hiking, etc. I am really into crafts, I love making things, like anything, I never give store-bought cards. Sunshine, water, smiling, music, good books.
