I use every opportunity possible to wear my neon Nikes. Especially on theme days at work.
Happy Thursday!
Who has exciting Memorial Day weekend plans?
Purchased: new bike, as my last one was stolen in Flagstaff. Spent the last hour of sunlight, after some serious crunch time at work, with my boyfriend using said bike. Happy weekend!

hope all is well with you, I’m off to celebrate my little brother’s 16th birthday!
December Recap in Photos —
What did you do in December?
Despite the backlash I always get, I continue to express my resentment toward Western Medicine.
Lately: I’ve been in & out of urgent care and the hospital but I hope there will be no further disruption in my latest excitement about whole foods and running shoes.
More on this later, but now: I’m off to work. Happy Wednesday bloggers.
It’s weird how much can change in a year, yah?
Updates are easier with photos sometimes. What have you been doin’ lately?
My aunt visited! I haven’t seen her since photo #1 was taken, so it’s always nice to have motivation in the form of people you rarely see noticing change in you.
It took me 11 months…but instead of serving as an inspirational hanging art piece, this coat is now a functional wardrobe item. I couldn’t even squeeze the sleeves onto my arms when I bought it - a purchase motivated by either denial or fantasy?
This is why I like blogging about my health and journey to healthier living. Because I can actually do more than just vaguely remember what it was like to be 207lbs and too big to wear my own clothes.
I can’t wait to see how much I can better myself in the next 11 months. It’s kind of a challenge, because this coat is pretty, but I aim for it to be too loose by then!
So, what’s your Non-Scale Victory for the day?
My brother is one of my favorite people. I was 8 years old when a midwife delivered him in our living room. He’s 15 now. Weird.
The first photo is from 2007, we’ve both changed a bit.
No. There is no way. How much “running” could I actually accomplish out in the slick, sloshy snow? It would be a waste of time. I’d slip.
It’s way too cold. My face would freeze! I can’t run with wind and snow flecks flying in my face, sorry.
The above are notions I disregarded to accomplish MY run today.
PROOF: the photos above (brought to you by today’s theme - it’s hard to keep your eyes open in windy snow)
So, what are you waiting for to go on YOUR run today? Rain, sleet, snow, self doubt? Disregard those - go geeeet it! Take pics. Kthx!
BOO. Sometimes I get so freakin’ irritated because I want to see more progress. I want to see it more dramatic! And faster. And, is it really that horrible to wish you could make your body change fast? With your mind? Without doing any work?
But…we must be KIND and GENTLE to our souls, because we are children of the WORLD. And, you get more bees with honey than vinegar. And, LOVING yourself is like, vital, and junk, in order to get healthier. Maslow would agree, yeah?
So, sometimes, just to relax myself, so I can reassure myself, “yes, it’s okay, just play by the rules & the scoreboard will take care of ITSELF,”… I compare pictures of a 207lb me with a picture of a 155lb me. Please forgive (a) the turquoise…shudder, obviously it’s since been thrown away & (b) slouching in the other picture, because that’s bad for your posture & muscles, too.
Working on a more organized “progress pictures” section for my blog. Blech, looking at old photos is bittersweet. Mostly “ew.” Eww.
